How will it benefit businesses?

High-speed, high-quality, broadband will ensure that businesses increase efficiency and enhance revenues thus maintaining a competitive edge in their market.

Investment will enhance the efficiency of SMEs by improving productivity, reducing transaction costs and allowing them to benefit from economies of scale and scope of services that only larger corporate companies could afford.  The enhanced and more affordable connectivity will enable SMEs to interact in new ways with their customers and suppliers, interacting on a greater level locally, nationally and internationally, facilitating import/export opportunities which otherwise would have been out of reach.  This will significantly improve efficiency of the SMEs by reducing lead-in times and distribution costs, and will help them work effectively with both customers and suppliers, leading to further efficiencies, and hence revenues will be enhanced.
